The South Carolina State Fair begins on October 12, 2016, and it will last until October 23, 2016. This is one of the largest events in Columbia, South Carolina. General admission for the fair is $10. Military personnel and children who are under the age of five will be able to get in for free. You have the option of purchasing tickets online at SCstatefair.org. You can also purchase them at any Walgreens location in Columbia or at the gate.
There will be new foods to try at the fair. There will be new sundae specials including the pulled pork sundae and shrimp and grits sundae. You have the option of choosing from different burgers including the quesadilla burger.
Not only will there be great food at the fair, but there will also be entertainment and new rides. Ron Diamond is one of the people who is scheduled to perform at the fair. He is a magician and a hypnotist. Latin Night will take place on October 21, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Additionally, there are a number of musicians who are set to perform at the fair including Kirk Franklin, Alabama and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
The Charlie Chopper is one of the new rides at the fair. It soars 50 feet into the air. The Freak Out is another new ride. It goes 70 feet in the air and seats 16 people. Additionally, the State Fair has a new ride called the Tornado. It seats eight people in four passenger cars. The ride tilts at 20 degrees and lifts 7 1/2 feet.
