Adelle Archer, the CEO of Eterneva, believes that when someone is bereaved, those around them can’t stop thinking about them. Adelle admits that the most heartbreaking aspect of grieving a loss is that the loved one who passed isn’t remembered. Archer founded Eterneva following the loss of his close friend and was looking for ways to honor her.
As she was looking for a memorial, she got the idea to transform her friend into a diamond hit her. After doing her research, she didn’t find websites offering cremation of diamonds, and the few that were available never provided her with the experience she desired. Adelle requested one of her close friends who runs diamond foundry to help her in designing a memorial stone.
As she was commemorating her friend’s death, Adelle felt that she needed to humanize the memorial industry. Adelle and her close friend Garrett Ozar believed that there was a perfect way they could celebrate the lives of their loved ones, and this is when they decided to form it. This is a grief company that helps mourners to honor their loved ones when they turn their ashes into diamonds.
The process involved in creating the ashes is almost similar to how artificial diamonds are grown, but Eterneva has resorted to working on every person’s ashes individually. Once the company creates the diamond from the deceased ashes, clients who ordered know that they’ve got the deceased in their hands. Every time they look at the diamond ring in their hands, they know that they’ve got the memories of their loved ones close to their heart forever.
To make the diamond, it places the diamond in a graphite cubicle then applies heat and pressure, which extracts carbon. The carbon is eventually put in a machine emulating the pressure and heat of the earth’s crust, which slowly creates a gem. Once the production of raw diamond is complete, its sent to the company master cutter, which chooses specific cuts that bring the beauty of the diamond.
