After a decade of working at L’Oreal, Nicolas Krafft became a beauty and cosmetics marketing and sales executive. Krafft had worked over three continents. His main tasks had been to define go-to-market strategies, to research new brands, to expand market growth, and to drive sales.
Krafft was born in Switzerland. He went to the University of St. St. Gallen and got an MBA in accounting and financing.
After college, he soon worked at L’Oreal in Germany as a Product Manager for hair color and care products. Nicolas Krafft was soon promoted to a Marketing Director of Kérastase. He was then transferred to Paris to assist in the start of L’Oreal’s Matrix brand in the Asia area.
Afer being successful in his previous positions in Paris and other places, L’Oreal moved Nicolas Krafft to manage operations in the Baltic States. He was then quickly moved back to Paris to be the leader of Eastern Europe’s marketing and sales operations. In 2014, he was moved from Paris to New York City to be the Vice President of Global Development. Until 2019, he was leading the global expansion at his cosmetic company. Recently, he has been a guest instructor in teaching Digital Business Leadership at Columbia University in New York City.
Nicolas Krafft does have some free time and he spends it volunteering for charitable organizations that focus on children. He has assisted these non-government organizations with renovating education centers. He also enjoys spending time in the outdoors He could finish the Hamburg and New York marathons. He climbed to the top of Mount Ruwenzori and Mount Kilmanjaro. He does find time for wife and three daughters.
How does Krafft spend his day? He starts his day by checking his email. He sees email as a way to catch on what is happening and what he may have missed. He likes to ensure that his email is up-to-date and that email from his team has been responded to. Email optimizes his time and he gets maximum results.
During the rest of the day, he attends meetings that he must attend to and he spends some time alon so he can focus solely on work. Whatever he does during the day, he keeps track of it closely so he is accountable to his team and anybody that is connected to him.
A part of his day is devoted to spending time with his family. They have breakfast and dinner together. To him, his family is more important than his career.
Krafft tries achieving a balance between family and career to become successful.
