Steve Ritchie leads the third-largest pizza company, Papa John’s. Although he is quite successful now and has accomplished a lot, he started from nothing. He started working when he was a teenager. Steve grew in Louisville, Kentucky, and still stays there up to date with his family. He has a wife and two daughters.
Steve Ritchie joined Papa John’s as a customer service representative. He then joined the corporate managers’ team, and from there, he got numerous promotions. He was first promoted in 2014 to Chief Operating Officer. Steve did not maintain the title for long; the following year, he got promoted to President of Papa John’s. In 2017, he became the Chief Executive Officer and maintained the title till late last year when he resigned.

Career journey
Steve Ritchie started working when he was 15 at various restaurants. His first job was at Burger King, where he specifically flipped burgers. Steve loved the restaurant business. He liked the excitement and fast-paced energy of doing things fast. He later left and started working at a pizza restaurant.
The pizza business thrilled him more. He found that the pizza business presented a lot more opportunities and was fascinating. Steve Ritchie went from being a senior in high school to owning a restaurant in Hikes Point. Steve started working at the restaurant and was putting extra effort into understanding the pizza business. He knew that hard work and dedication paid off. At the restaurant, he for 12 hours each day for seven days.
During the spring of 1996, just before Steve joined college, he left to work at Papa John’s at a part-time job. Once there he fell in love with the company and has been working there till recently. He managed to grow from an hourly employee to the CEO. Steve resigned from the company last year but has an agreement with the company. He earns from the agreement.
