Larry Baer Rises From Executive Vice Presidency To Become Giants’ Celebrated President And CEO

If there is one person that has seen a team grow from scratch to become top in the league is Laurence M. Baer commonly known as Larry Baer. The former player and Giants’ Executive Vice President knows what it entails to form a complete team from scratch.

When Larry Baer came on board, the Giants did not have a place to train from. Yes, the San Francisco Giants did not have Oracle Park back then. From such humble beginnings, the team has grown to having a nice playing ground now known as The Oracle Park.

As for Larry Baer, who is very passionate about nurturing local talent, the Giants’ CEO is now focusing on who will form part of the team that will represent The Giants in the next season when Oracle Park resumes fully operations.

Although Larry Baer is versed with many things such as exclusive deals with staggering amounts of money to the tune of $200 million, he also knows something. Speaking recently, during a media briefing on the state of the Oracle Park, the team’s CEO Larry Baer said, “The team was built on one theme – that of nurturing our own homegrown talents. We are not going to lose that focus not now nor in the days to come.”

The SF Giants CEO was speaking this in answer to critics that the team has plans to hire players from outside, something the president brushed away fast. “Our selection of the team that will take us through the next season depends a lot on how the farm’s system will progress. That means everybody around us is involved in making the Giants a great team,” Larry Baer said.

In the past few seasons, the Giants have not done so well. With the surge in the coronavirus cases and the closure of Oracle Park, things have gone worse. However, the Giants CEO is hopeful that things will change for the better once baseball courts reopen soon.Click here to learn more.
