Alberto Bazbaz Sacal Shares His 2021 Outlook For Mexico’s Fintech
Financial security expert Alberto Bazbaz Sacal recently shared his views on where Mexico’s fintech industry is headed in 2021. He said the industry was regulated in 2018, which has since led to its strong growth. He expects it to continue to grow in 2021, and more startups to be established.
Many people in Mexico didn’t have access to banking products and services before the fintech industry started, Alberto Bazbaz Sacal stated recently. There’s fewer than 14 bank branches for every 100,000 people, so banking isn’t very accessible. Fintech changed all this as people have access to smartphones and the internet.

Alberto Bazbaz Sacal expects there will be many more fintech companies getting started in 2021 as the industry continues its growth. He bases this on the number of authorizations that have been filed recently. It takes up to 6 months for an authorization to be granted, and an additional 3 months in certain circumstances.
Having earned a law degree, Alberto Bazbaz Sacal became an attorney. He didn’t like private litigation, however, and so started working for Mexico’s government. He’s performed in several roles, ranging from college professor to president of GALIFAT.
