Venture capitalism is one of the most notable stages of inventions and start ups in this century. Apart from being a source of income for the venture capitalists, it also sets about a culture that ensures dreams and inventions do not die from lack of financing. 1955 Capital in San Francisco is one of the companies doing just that.
1955 Capital founder Andrew Chung is one of the most decorated men in the venture capitalist industry. As a young man from China, Andrew Chung moved to San Francisco with a hunger for education and a dream to succeed. He proceeded to achieve the first dream, graduating with an MBA from Wharton School of Business and a BA, Phi Beta Kappa in Applied Mathematics from Harvard. He then proceeded to achieving his second goal. Chung began working at Light speed Ventures, a technology based Venture Company that seeks to fund ideas and projects that proved viable or promising enough to sustain themselves after an initial boost. It was while he was here that he managed a portfolio that saw him oversee the successful launch of projects like NestLabs, Natera and Personalis.
According to @achung, our founder who lived through the #SARS crisis in China, these are strategic points that #CEOs should consider in managing through the #covid19 pandemic. https://t.co/RPvW46a5Nc pic.twitter.com/4P7pGcsy7D

Andrew Chung then joined Kholsa Ventures, another company in which he oversaw as much as $500Million in asset management. As a leader, he helped oversee the projection of Imposssible Foods, Calera and many other companies. Chung had then gained enough experience to launch his own company, 1955 Capital, which was born in 2016.
As a visionary for a brighter future, Chung focuses most of his investments in areas like energy and sustainability. He believes that there are many ways to grow the planet’s many projects without destroying the environment. 1955 Capital invests resources on projects that boost food production, education and sustainability.
When he is not busy saving the world through his company, he is creating and strengthening diplomatic links between the two countries he operates in, the USA and China. He is also a musician, even confessing that he almost took that as a career choice. He performed in musical landmarks like the Shanghai Conservatory and off –Broadway.
